What happens when a creative kid grows up to discover they’re gifted at leading and developing others?

Hi there! I’m Nicole…

I was the kid who loved everything creative, from music production to journalism, from architecture to tattoo artistry (Yes, my sketchbook had range). After years in social media and project management, standing in the middle of a church auditorium, I realized my calling wasn’t to pick one creative discipline, but to use all of them to serve the local church.

Over the last 15+ years, I’ve moved from volunteer to intern, from part-time to full-time staff, to eventually becoming a Creative Arts Pastor, leading the very team I once volunteered for.

Along the way, I’ve led cross-functional teams of content writers, videographers, photographers, audio engineers, lighting designers, graphic designers, musicians, and artists of all kinds through the full arc of creative work, from messy whiteboard ideation to crisp, on-the-dot execution.

That work has included thematically designed weekend worship services for multi-site and online church, Christmas Eve and Easter TV specials for CBS2 Chicago and FOX32 Chicago, live concerts for audiences of 7,000+, large ballroom events for non-profits, and a host of creative videos and promotional campaigns. I’ve also built and rebuilt systems to scale, refining processes through pastoral transitions, team restructuring, and senior leadership succession, so creativity could flourish even in seasons of change.

I earned a B.S. in Leadership with an emphasis on psychology and hold certifications in the Enneagram and The Six Types of Working Genius. Paired with thousands of hours of research and the daily discipline of practicing what I teach, that foundation fuels my work as a leadership coach and culture consultant.

Today, through The Creative Level, I help leaders and teams strengthen communication, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving. I coach emerging leaders, develop creative systems that actually scale, and support churches and ministries as they plan and produce services across multiple campuses and contexts. I’ve coached and developed dozens of creative leaders in a variety of church environments, and I love seeing people step into ownership with clarity and confidence.

What I’ve learned and now teach to others is that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about knowing how you’re wired, building healthy teams, creating environments where others can thrive, and approaching each situation with the collective wisdom of the people God has placed within your circle of care and influence.

When I’m not coaching, consulting, speaking or recording episodes for the Leadership Frameworks Podcast, you’ll find me with good friends over a good meal—because great conversation is another form of creative journey.
